Furniture ReVamp: Antique Vanity

Over a year ago I found this little vanity on craigslist.  This is a great piece of furniture and has 4 deep drawers making this a great vanity, dresser or desk.

Here is the before pic (I forgot to take the pic before I removed the round mirror):

Since it was already in great shape all I did was lightly sand, add two layers of Kilz primer, and then painted with a nice bright, white.

I love the simple design of this piece.

Pretty pink acrylic knobs are a perfect pairing!

The finished product- a beautiful vanity!

Craft Time: Snowman Foot Prints

I spend lots of time on Pinterest searching for new craft ideas.  So, when little brother's preschool announced a Snowman decorating contest last week I knew that I had to check out my faves on Pinterest to see what I could enter. I ran across this really cute and super easy snowman a few months ago and had pinned it for a fun idea.

The original Snowman was applied to a t-shirt -

I decided to make my Snowman into a door hanger using regular cardstock and some ribbon:

A little white paint applied to the bottom of those cute footsies – be prepared for giggling baby – and then transfer ‘footprint’ to cardstock.  I found that the high chair was a handy helper to keep baby from moving around too much during the painting and transferring process.

I decorated the Snowman with a black top hat cut from my cricut machine (Paper Dolls cartridge), ‘coal’ eyes and buttons made from a hole punch and black paper.  His scarf is an old shoestring and the snowflakes are from the Accents cricut cartridge.
